Campbell

Chief Executive Officer

Community Action Agency

Warm weather, sunshine, and miles of beaches is what native Floridian, Clifton Campbell, left behind when he moved to Kansas City, Missouri to be the Chief Operations Officer (COO) of the United Services Community Action Agency (USCAA). After seven years he shifted to his current position as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Community Action Agency of Greater Kansas City (CAAGK) formerly known as USCAA.

As CEO of a nonprofit organization with a $10M budget, Campbell leads his executive team in strategically impacting more than 160,000 households with numerous high-impact programs in the greater Kansas City area. The mission of the agency is to help those living in poverty reach self-sufficiency, a task Mr. Campbell knows is not for the faint-hearted. Under his leadership, CAAGKC rebranded itself, upgraded technology and processes for the 21st century, and added the Healthy Homes program.

His outstanding collegiate and professional track and field record catapulted him to being inducted into the Florida Track and Field Hall of Fame in 2008, and his professional career was also picking up speed as the Director of Parent Involvement/Community Relations for the Hillsborough County Public Schools Head Start Program in Tampa, Florida. Under his leadership, Hillsborough County Government’s Head Start program earned a National Program of Excellence Designation, only given for excellence in program management and performance.

Although Mr. Campbell is an active board member of the Full Employment Council, Missouri Community Action Network, Missouri Association of Community Action Directors, and Nonprofit Connect, and a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated, he manages to carve out time to spend with his family.

Father of three and the husband of Dr. Judith Jordan Campbell, Mr. Campbell enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He knows that relationships are important and that his family is the nucleus of his success. He engages with his wife and children Clifton II, Jordan Alexander, and Gabriella Elise through conversation, fishing, playing sports, and being a motivator at their various activities.
