Experience an extraordinary healing performance by four-time Grammy Award-winning songwriter, composer, and performer Brian Kennedy, Paseo High School alumnus. He returns to his hometown to join his friend and friend of the Nelson-Atkins Chris Goode, who will share insights about music selections, including one work inspired by art in The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art collection. This performance is food for the soul, like a Sunday dinner where everyone feels nourishment and a sense of belonging.
Envisioned by Chris Goode. Presented as part of the citywide Juneteenth celebrations in partnership with JuneteenthKC. Sponsored by African American Artists Collective, Hallmark Cards, Inc., John and Sharon Hoffman, JE Dunn Construction, and Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation.
