The Porter House KC was created to focus on low to moderate income (LMI) communities of Kansas City. We are establishing ourselves as a conduit between the LMI community and all things necessary to start, build, sustain and grow a profitable business. We have continued this work on the front lines, supporting businesses throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.  In an effort to help overcome hesitation and fear during these stressful times, we have started providing Facebook Live conversations every Wednesday evening.

 

Many entrepreneurs have never applied for loans and grants. We also realize that many entrepreneurs are not able to qualify for special loan and grant programs. With this in mind, we help small businesses access a wide variety of free resources. Robert Johnson, for example, has opened QuickBase.com- an online tool that helps small business owners create loan applications that are able to be used when applying for loans or grants. A second example is for entrepreneurs in foodservice restaurants- There is a free online ordering and restaurant management platform called UpServe.com.  UpServe now provides their platform at no cost to small businesses who are trying to push through.
